Another Tory lie exposed: More disabled people claiming PIP have LOST money than gained

The Department for Work and Pensions administers PIP: this sign by the visitors’ entrance should read, “Abandon hope all ye who enter here.”

Remember when the Tories introduced Personal Independence Payment to replace Disability Living Allowance for disabled people, back in 2013 or thereabouts?

They admitted that some people would lose out… but unless my memory is failing me, I seem to recall they said more people would gain.

In fact, the opposite has happened.

Since the benefit was rolled out, more than 351,000 disabled people have lost their benefit payments altogether.

Did even a single member of the Tory/Liberal Democrat government of the day stop to check what happened to them?

A further 306,000 lost money, receiving PIP at a lower rate.

Tories love pushing people into poverty and making them struggle.

Then there were 200,000 people who neither benefited nor lost out; their award was unchanged.

Finally, 556,000 people actually saw the benefit increase that the Tories promised.

Lucky them.

But 556,000 is nothing like as many as the 850,000 who either lost out or whose benefit stayed the same.

Everybody knows the new system is inferior.

PIP assessments are overruled in around 75 per cent of appeals – but very few claimants appeal because the process has been deliberately complicated by the Tories.

It’s as though they don’t want anyone to get it – don’t you think?

The Disability Benefits Consortium, which represents more than 100 pressure groups, wants the government to commission research into the number of assessments that are actually false – not just the number found to be false by a tribunal.

Then it wants the government to step up efforts to get assessments right.

But there’s a serious flaw in the organisation’s thinking:

The Tory government created PIP; it was designed to fail disabled people.

As far as the Conservatives are concerned, it is working perfectly.

And there’s nothing anybody can do to change it for years to come, because 14 million people obligingly voted these creatures of hate back into office.

So my advice to you is, if you have a disabled relative or friend, and they fall foul of the Tory benefit deprivation scam, find someone who voted Tory…

And ask them why they wanted to hurt innocent people so badly.

I have to fight every couple of years to keep my enhanced mobility. I previously had DLA higher rate mobility and lower rate care. Social Services are in the process of trying to get funding to double the regular help I get, after three separate professional told them how I was not coping when nobody applied for the job (after I had been put on direct payments and told I could not have agency workers any more). That is still not enough evidence for DWP to believe I need the support.

Now the Tory Party are back in power ,you can expect to hear some horror stories ref benefits. The DWP have just informed me they are claiming £8k back from because they claim I was married to a woman whom was my Landlady. This information was provided by a hoax caller to the DWP which was not security cleared. They have cut my pension by 50% to recover what they claim is FRAUD,My former landlady has provided a witness statement to declare I was not her partner/husband and I was her tenant. Can anyone beat this horror story. I appealed this ridiculous decision under MANDATORY RECONSIDERATION but they are STILL claiming I was married to my former landlady. I am now in the process of appealing to a tribunal.

Capita the outsourced company doing the assessments . there staff are paid a commission and have a number to decline each month and this company advisor is Philip May from his finance company so $$$$$$ profits

Sure disable people are loosing PIP but it’s not all the fault of DWP every one needs to take a look at Capita and how they do the reports and
Lie and when complaints are made the ignore them and state not our problem refer to DWP Capita Will Not Investigate that their assessors Lie

The outsourced companies only make recommendations to DWP decision-makers. It is representatives of the government department who make the decisions.

And of course it is the Tory MPs who run that government department who employ organisations like Capita to run the assessments according to such poor criteria.

Labour would have stopped the outsourcing and replaced PIP with a benefit that genuinely helped people with disabilities. That would have made a difference.

Personally.! I think this post has nothing to do with anyone losing their pip….it’s promoting crowd funding another big scam….using pip sufferers who clearly can not afford to give a penny towards their cause of losing useless cases against the rich….i suggest “keep what money you’ve got people ” you’re going to need it yourself.!!

      It’s doing what?

Do you mean that an article about the Tories screwing over the disabled people of the UK is actually about crowdfunding because there’s a request for people to support my CrowdJustice campaign to defend me against false libel claims by Rachel Riley?

And if so, do you expect us to take you seriously?

That campaign has helped me defend myself, raising nearly £50,000 already and helping to ensure that justice is served, rather than the interests of the wealthy.

I suggest that you keep your fingers away from the keyboard in future – unless you can find something intelligent to say.

Here in the west Midlands there is a wait to go to court of over 80 – 90 weeks to claim pip bk. I had to do the same thing with Esa. I won my case, BUT didn’t understand what and why they believe a washed up so called heath personnel over a GP, Mental health team everyone sent a cover letter saying what’s wrong and medication I take. I’ve ptsd stress can’t leave the house for days sometimes weeks. Esa gave bk in full claim. Why can’t Esa and pip both talk and see OK got things wrong.. Well I can say is I’ve not got better this stress has made everything worse. There is no help from no one to sort claim. The cab team have been very good at filling in paperwork for myself. Get this when I read bk the report about what I can and can’t do was 100% lies I never moved about hands up down not a thing. She said fit to go bk to work. I’m ex Army it’s where my ptsd is from so I reinact war scene everyday and always think they on about you chatting about you. So I can’t run away I have to fight. So to put myself in a group will be bad as I could lose it and hurt someone. So I have to stop myself. Which is hard most days as I’m in tears seeing friends die in front of me everyday. So just a picture of my life everyday 365 days. Yes there’s good days not many. I try to do 1 good deed a day. Puts a smile on me… Thanks PIP for adding to my stress. Nice one
