Why are people with disabilities being refused access to Covid-19 test centres?

Cartoonist Andrzej Krauze’s view of government sickness and disability assessments, from years ago. Now it seems we can apply it to Covid-19 test centres, which are inaccessible to many people with disabilities.

Remember when This Site was publishing articles showing how people with disabilities were being refused benefits because their assessments were in inaccessible places so if they made it to the test, they were seen not to have disabilities, and if they didn’t, then their application was binned because they couldn’t be bothered to attend?

Well, now it seems the government is using the same wheeze at Covid-19 test centres:

Back in the day, Tony Blair (I think) passed a law called the Disability Discrimination Act, in which it became illegal for buildings that were supposed to be publicly-accessible not to have facilities for people with disabilities.

What happened to that? Is it still on the statute book? If so, why the hell isn’t it being enforced?

Yes still on the statute book as part of the Equalities Act though as expected Disability has sunk to the bottom again and as far as I am aware there is no no disabled member of the Equalities Commission since first Bert Massey and the Baroness Jane Campbell were commissioners, both of whom were active disability campaigners. I have been reading a new book “the War on Disabled People” by Eileen Clifford and its ALL THERE.

Bravo the fascist tories under lardy fascist dictator boris are doing excellent work ridding themselves of all the thousands of women and men deemed to be ‘useless to fascist tory policies!’

Still think fascist little england doesn’t exist? Well laws protecting disabled women and men are not worth the paper they were written on and as evidenced by the criminal fascist tory boys, laws are there to be ignored when it is the fascist tories deciding they will not abide by them! But us peasants disabled or not must be constantly subjected to 24/7 state control!

All disabled women and men are fit to work and same applies when they attempt to access the fake test and trace. It’s ‘not our problem guv say the vile fascist tories – you are the ones not trying hard enough!’ And far too many gullible women and men are believing these vile fascist tory instigated lies!
