Satire: nobody really thought Priti Patel had spent a fortune of Home Office money making her eyebrows look good, did they? But she did authorise the payments to a firm that was dissolved in 2018 – so, what was really going on?
I received an email today from LinkedIn, of all places.
It stated: “Your post goes against our policy on misinformation. It has been removed and only you can access it.”
The post to which it referred was my article Huge wodges of your cash have failed to make Patel pretty. Why is she using your money to pamper herself?
Obviously the email doesn’t provide enough information for me to respond in any meaningful way, so I have requested a review and an explanation. In the meantime, we can have a look at some of the information in the article, which centres on expenses claims submitted by the Home Office and drawing on public money.
Lloyd Hardy on Twitter has been analysing the claims and produced the following thread:
And why not order more from them when you gave the £30,000 #PPEContracts the next week in April, 3 days after @ukhomeoffice closed?
Maybe you weren't satisfied?
I'm not saying you're #ToryCriminals but.
I only ask because you used a different company name at the *same address* pic.twitter.com/BByuHThaKV

Ah well, at least they have UK Made products right?
Actually, re. that.. can you explain the £3743.10 you spent at an #Albanian electronics store?

You know, Priti – I'm a stickler for numbers (I know you get confused by them) but here look at these.
They add up to £10,043.15 spent in the Pollyana Restaurant. That's a lot of food but – it doesn't exist.
So the Home Office said it was 'overseas training'.
How, Priti? 🤔🤷♂️ pic.twitter.com/Nuo4RBYL6F

Priti, I think you're perfect just the way you are ⭐️
You don't need the £2k Diet Consultant you hired that works at the Environment Agency.
But we need to talk about the £669 worth of Cup Cakes?
Were they for asylum seekers?
If so I think we could do better nutritionally… pic.twitter.com/PMWaG1dLhP

I mean, you SHOULD buy them clothes but.. it's a bit out of character for you Priti.
Maybe you could get the dissolved company Beautiful Brows to supply you with asylum seeker clothing?
You know, the one with the website with the dissolved company no. on it
..so can't pay tax? pic.twitter.com/LHd5TjtwyP

⚠️ Attention @UKHomeOffice Staff
It's time to come forward and blow the whistle.
Does SP on these expenses mean "See Priti"?
We are not going to let #ToryCriminals take the money we could use for our #NHS while our family members die.
No Way.
This #ToryCorruption ends today. pic.twitter.com/5CsOfJoSja

The @Conservatives lied about £350M/#NHS to make you vote #Brexit so Tory Donors avoid paying Tax
They wasted £22Billion of YOUR money on failed Test and Trace systems
126,573 loved ones died from Covid
Vote for anyone you choose on 6th May 2021 but
GET THE TORIES OUT!#GTTO

So there is a large volume of evidence that these expenses claims are… suspicious, to say the least – and there is evidence that significant amounts of money were authorised by Patel herself.
This evidence, and the other information provided by Mr Hardy, needs to be investigated fully.
I understand he has received a threat of some form of legal action – that means in the courts, for the hard-of-thinking (I was once accused by a loonie anti-Semitism accuser who actually suggested I was saying that other behaviour by people like them was illegal/criminal), so I would suggest that this investigation happens quickly, to prevent any miscarriage of justice.
And LinkedIn should review its policies on the removal of articles for “misinformation”.
Have YOU donated to my crowdfunding appeal, raising funds to fight false libel claims by TV celebrities who should know better? These court cases cost a lot of money so every penny will help ensure that wealth doesn’t beat justice.

As an aside. I am deeply concerned about attacks on journalists for doing their jobs properly. God knows so few actually investigate and uncover wrongdoing these days.
I was especially concerned to see that Craig Murray (former Ambassador and whistleblower) has been convicted of Contempt of Court and now faces imprisonment for reporting on the Alex Salmond trial – literally the only journalist to report in full on the trial. Not only does he face imprisonment but all of the relevant articles have now been taken off line – he has been silenced.
We have no particular ‘rights’ in this country and the government wants to remove them yet further. I am truly concerned what will be left for my grandchildren as Starmer has no appetite for the rights of the people, he merely complies..
All these fake expenses are a pathetic attempt by the arrogant fascist tories to hide their systemic theft of our public money for their nefarious purposes!
A female/male pupil could hide evidence of money laundering far more easily than the worthless Home Office boys!
I demand to see the expense records of all the other ministry departments such as Dept of Works and Pensions, Education Department and particularly Prime Minister’s official expenses sheets! I guarantee there is widespread theft and fraud happening within the fascist tory dictatorship – oops I mean the democratic (cough cough) government!!!
We peasants have a right to know where all our public money is going and it won’t have been spent on providing food for thousands and thousands impoverished women and their families!
Watersports Warehouse?? authorised by Patel?? Is she overseeing training migrants at deepsea diving
Watersports used to have a completely different meaning once, that I wouldn’t put past a Tory.
