I told you this was happening and here’s the proof:
New Facebook groups have emerged that serve as platforms for Ukrainian refugees and British hosts to make their ‘match’. In emotional posts, Ukrainians share the horror they have endured over the last three weeks.
As well as sharing details of traumas they have already suffered, Ukrainians are pointing out the qualities that make them good house guests. Examples include being “sociable”, “tidy”, “hardworking” or even “clean” and maintaining a “healthy lifestyle”. Hobbies like cooking and baking are highlighted, with some offering to do housework, washing, gardening and nannying “just for joy”.
UK residents who are found to be fit to host will be given £350 each month to do so, and will be required to keep refugees for a minimum of six months. Many are offering their home for as long as is needed.
Social media groups do appear to be matching people quickly.
There are concerns that this is demeaning.
But there are also concerns that vulnerable people would otherwise struggle to access the Tory government’s Homes For Ukraine scheme because it demands that UK sponsors know their names.
And even with the help of these Facebook pages, there are worries that those who might not speak English, who have significant mental health issues, who are physically unwell, or who might not have any access to social media won’t be helped.

Fascist tories have as usual refused to enact their statutory duty of care towards the Ukrainian refugees! Expert yes real expert refugee organisations here in the UK including specific ones which focus solely on women and children were refused permission to speak to the fascist tory dictators! Why? Because the arrogant fascist tory boys believe they know everything and nothing! Instead the fascist tories’ sole focus is on increasing their bloated wealth because caring for refugees is not a fake government’s responsibility – neither has it ever been their responsibility to ensure their own citizens have sufficient food and shelter!
It’s humiliating and degrading that Ukrainian women have to advertise themselves as ‘dutiful, tidy, hardworking etc etc’ in order to try and obtain a miniscule amount of assistance!
But the fascist tories don’t care because these women and children are expendable – they aren’t human and aren’t even ‘English!’
So many male sexual predators will be seizing the opportunity to target Ukrainian women and children because there is so much profit to earn by forcing them into men’s pimp industry!
The answer is obvious – only expert Refugee organisations should be involved and this would ensure the Ukrainian women and children are not sent to exploitative and dangerous individuals!
There are no services specifically created to ensure Ukrainian women and children can report in safety that they are being sexually preyed on by men, they are being forced to work as slave labour in so-called safe homes. All the gloss and propaganda is about placing women and children in homes but none of the occupants will be fully veted and no checks will be made a month after the women and children arrive!
