For clarity: lawyer Keir Starmer ignored that the siege of Gaza is now a war crime

Last Updated: October 11, 2023By Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Keir Starmer: if he can’t – or won’t – recognise a war crime when one is described to him, how long will it be before he’s committing them himself?

He said Israel’s actions against Gaza should conform to international law, sure.

But former Director of Public Prosecutions – and therefore a lawyer himself – Sir Keir Starmer doesn’t seem to understand what international law requires in this instance.

It requires the protection of non-combatants, which means they must not be deprived of the necessities for survival – such as water.

So you can understand why Judy Hamilton, below, responded the way she did to Starmer’s comments in his interview with This Writer’s one-time sparring partner Nick Ferrari:

Let’s also have a reminder that the siege on Gaza, including the million children who constitute half of the population there, constitutes collective punishment and is an offence against the Geneva Convention:

As a potential world leader, Keir Starmer should be aware of international law – or at the very least, he should have been made aware of it before making himself look like a bloodthirsty potential war criminal.

Or is he aware of it, and he just doesn’t care? All things considered, this seems horrifyingly likely to This Writer.

ADDITIONAL: Now Shadow Attorney General Emily Thornberry has appeared on TV, refusing to answer whether she thinks Israel cutting off food, water and energy from Gaza is against international law:

She knows it is a war crime and she should have admitted it.

Shame on Victoria Derbyshire, as well (for a change), for not putting Thornberry straight.

HAMAS has committed war crimes since Saturday…
Which does not give Israel permission to commit war crimes in retaliation.
Besides denying water, food and power to all people from the elderly to the pregnant, annihilation of entire neighbourhoods (see Russia in Chechnya, Syria and Ukraine) is an obvious attempt at genocide.

“(see Russia in Chechnya, Syria and Ukraine)” – (a) Chechens are fighting for Russia in Ukraine (b) Don’t you mean US (and disciples) and Islamists in Syria? (c) And how about the actions of the Ukrainian coup-installed (by ‘The West’) one party (by law – opposition partiers banned) government against the ethnic Russians in the east?

Starmer will say anything to gain votes, but the is politics and politicians.

Netanyhau is no believer on International Law just as Hamas. Both are committing crimes. Hamas in their actions many abhorrent acts took place and will do many more, and while actions against Hamas are justified to subject the whole population of Gaza to these actions are not.

Innocent civilians are being killed in both Israel and Gaza and that should not be so. War will not solve the conflict but meaningful discussions would, they will not be easy to do, but they have to be done..

The conflict between Jews and Arabs has be taking place for centuries well before the creation of Israel on 1947, unfortunately there is no trust but there has to be.

Starmer doesn’t care that the Israeli government continue to commit war crimes because Israel is apparently ‘a special case’ so therefore international law doesn’t apply to these criminals!

Putin is saying the same that he is justified in invading Ukraine and retaking what he claims is Russian territory but the western government boys say this is a violation of international rights!

One can’t have international laws which only apply to certain countries and individuals but Starmer and his cohort of hypocrites are all uttering the same lies which effectively sends message to would-be dictators ‘well if Israel can get away with murdering innocent civilians so can we!’

By the way Starmer is a lawyer but he believes laws only apply to certain ‘special individuals/countries!’
