Gaza: Joe Biden’s ‘humanitarian corridor’ is nothing of the kind

Apartheid: Israel walled Gaza off in 1996 and has been reinforcing the barrier ever since. Now it has a very clearly-demarcated target for its bombs and missiles.

What is a “humanitarian corridor”?

Wikipedia defines it as “a type of temporary demilitarized zone intended to allow the safe transit of humanitarian aid in, and/or refugees out of a crisis region”.

US President Joe Biden has called for one to go to Gaza, to allow innocent non-combatants to leave before Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu follows through on his threat.

Netanyahu’s words caused considerable concern at the time:

Apparently the idea is for civilians to leave Gaza at the Rafah Crossing, passing into Egypt. A modern-day Exodus, in reverse.

There’s only one problem: no part of this plan allows for their return to their homes after hostilities cease.

It seems this is nothing more than United States-sponsored ethnic cleansing. No wonder Egypt shut the gate the instant Netanyahu told Gazans to leave.

There is a clear precedent in very recent history:

From the standpoint of the UK’s immigration policy, this is highly revealing.

This Site recently ran an article pointing out that the UK could stem the flow of “illegal” migrants across the English Channel greatly, simply by ceasing to export weapons to repressive foreign regimes.

Here we see that Israel exported arms to a repressive foreign regime which then used them to displace an entire population – of Armenians. Wasn’t the UK having a problem with huge numbers of them coming here a short while ago?

Those people seem to have gone into Armenia – and in any case there is now an agreement between the UK and Armenia, preventing people from that country from coming to the UK and staying here.

Palestinians leaving Gaza won’t have such an option. Their country is being systematically destroyed by Israel, meaning they won’t have an obvious place to go. They might end up travelling to the UK and creating another immigration headache for whichever political party is forming the government by then.

And it will be partly the fault of those politicians – if they belong to either the Labour or Conservative parties – for supporting what Israel is doing to Gaza now.

We can all see what’s happening:

What a betrayal of a people who have been victimised for 75 years:

The comment above is not factually accurate; it would have been better to say that Palestinians have been forced to leave their homes ever since 1948 and this – if it is carried out – is just the latest compulsory abandonment.

It shames us all that our politicians are even considering such a betrayal of a people who need our help – let alone supporting it.

Shameful that Biden and his allies are claiming to be creating an ‘humanitarian corridor to allow Palestinian women, children and men leave their land for good!’ Where are these people supposed to go? UK doesn’t want any ‘nasty migrants (sic) entering their pristine spaces!’ Israel wants to be rid of those so-called non-human Palestinian entities so obvious answer is force them out of Gaza and then Israel will look at other territories it will want to ‘reclaim as Israeli land!’

Looks like Starmer will have to deal with an influx of Palestinian refugees and Hamas members. What will he do?

The UN need to mobilise Troops to Palestine and protect Civilians from total anihilation and having even more land stolen by Israel… this was always the plan by the new Right-Wing Government.
