BBC apologises for misleading on pro-Palestine demonstrations
I was going to do a piece about this but the BBC has – for once – got its correction out first!
In a report on October 16, a BBC newsreader read out the following words:
"Here in the UK Sunak visited a Jewish school in London to underline his support for the community. The visit followed several demonstrations across Britain during which people voiced their backing for Hamas"

I would have pointed out that the demonstrations were not about backing Hamas in any way; thousands upon thousands of people across the UK had taken to the streets to show support for the two million innocent Palestinian people whose lives are threatened by Israeli war crimes – collective punishment (cutting off their food, water and power, and bombing innocent civilians in retribution for the attack by Hamas), and forcible transfer (ordering a million of them to move from northern Gaza to the south of the region).
But I didn’t get the chance before the BBC broadcast a correction:
The BBC admits that it misled the public about pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the UK. pic.twitter.com/oi4nVf5DN7

Methinks Auntie must have received quite a lot of complaints about that one!

I think the media and political class were taken completely by surprise by the scale of the protests at the weekend – there seemed to be about 150,000 demonstrators across the country by some of the bigger estimates – and they do seem to be getting a bit less blatant in their pro-Israel bias. I was at the Manchester march, and although the BBC played down the numbers to as little as 1,500, there were at least 7,000 there. They’re scared now they realise how little control they have over the public narrative, and are trying to correct their own picture to protect what’s left of their credibility.
However, yet again it’s another ‘mistake’ by the BBC that hurts the opposition and benefits the Establishment.
I don’t think numbers should matter in matters of moral responsibility. What mattered is that the BBC stated the wrong information and gives the wrong idea..like the false story of beheaded babies
