Sickening: Israel’s UK ambassador says Hamas – not her country – is killing Gazan citizens

Tzipi Hotovely: you can’t trust a word she says.

Tzipi Hotovely is a real piece of … work, isn’t she?

Interviewed by Krishnan Guru-Murthy of Channel 4 News, she claimed that Israel was not responsible for the killing of Gazan civilians – despite the fact that it is clearly Israeli-owned weaponry that is doing the damage.

Oh no, she said – it’s Hamas that is killing them by using them as human shields and putting military infrastructure under civilian systems:

Her arguments are false.

Hamas isn’t using civilians as human shields, just by living in the same Israel-created enclave as them. As far as we know, Hamas bases aren’t anywhere near the homes and service-providers of Gazan civilians – and in any case, it was the job of the Israeli security services to spy out where Hamas was, long before the current violence started. Why did that not happen?

This leads on to the next point: we have seen no evidence that Hamas has put any of its infrastructure inside or beneath civilian structures – in particular, al-Shifa hospital where babies are dying because Israel has starved Gaza of energy. It is nothing but an excuse for the most appalling kinds of murders we’ve seen in this genocidal onslaught.

And anyway, by this time, who would believe a single word that comes from the Israeli government and military?

Only today (November 13, 2023) the country’s president, Isaac Herzog, was claiming a copy of Adolf Hitler’s infamous Mein Kampf was found at a site used by Hamas in northern Gaza.

But a few days ago, he also brandished another book he said was found on a Hamas member’s body, claiming it was an instruction manual for manufacturing chemical bombs. Instead, it was a printout of an online biography, telling the story of a man who tried unsuccessfully to bomb the World Trade Centre in New York, back in the 1990s.

Draw your own conclusions.
