This is self-explanatory:

We do need to unpack some of what’s said here, though.

For the record, Starbucks came under fire after bosses seemed to oppose a post on ‘X’ by its employees’ union, expressing support for Palestine.

This was seen as support for Israel and Zionism, although the firm has also been attacked by the pro-Palestinian camp.

And the effect on profits has been devastating, with $11 billion in sales lost.

Hence the message that Starbucks supports peace: “We stand for humanity.”

Shall we take it as a call for a ceasefire? Okay. But it hasn’t happened yet and Starbucks still has business interests in Israel, so there’s no reason to go back there for coffee just yet.

And there are plenty of other firms with investments in Israel that should be avoided until they start doing the sensible thing too.

It’s a victory – but a much smaller one than it has been made out to be.

And, as a commenter on Facebook told This Writer, it won’t stop Israel’s genocide in Gaza because there’s a huge gas pocket off the coast – belonging to Palestine – that Israel wants to exploit (along with its partners from other countries).

Lives don’t matter to these creeps; to them, it’s all about money.
