Did Dan Poulter join Labour to bury the NHS?
Is this a mystery solved? Did Dan Poulter join Labour to bury the NHS rather than help save it?
It bothered This Writer; Poulter defected from the Conservatives to Labour despite intending to quit Parliament before this year’s general election. What was the point?
Apparently he wants to be a medical advisor to a future Labour government – after supporting every NHS-harming policy that the Tories imposed on us.
That’s what has prompted Poulter’s former boss, one Dr Rob Galloway, to pipe up on the social media:
Dan Poulter was an ex junior dr of mine and literally brought in every policy that has destroyed the NHS
He is joining the Labour Party so that post election he can be a medical advisor to the next Labour government.
It worries me what advice he will give @Keir_Starmer if… https://t.co/DLP7dFQMeq

If his fides turn out to be bona after background checks, then This Writer would suggest that it’s a good offer.
But Keir Starmer has (clearly, as you can see from the above) already welcomed Poulter into the Labour ranks.
Never mind. Politicians have a reprehensible history of backstabbing each other and Starmer will feel no obligation to employ Poulter after an election win.
In any case, some of us are hoping Labour won’t win the status quo-perpetuating landslide that everybody in the right-wing media is gleefully predicting.
