It’s an excellent point – especially well-made, considering David Lammy’s own ethnicity.

It is understandable that he should support a member of an opposing political party who has been suffering racism.

But it is hypocritical for him to have done so after his own party’s leader victimised Diane Abbott and he did nothing (certainly nothing public) to put a stop to it.

It is equally hypocritical for him not to have defended the author of the Forde Report into racism in the Labour Party against threats from the same party leader.

Voters in Tottenham, where Mr Lammy has been the MP since 2000, should take note…

And vote for an alternative – such as Nandita Lal.
