Read Jeremy Corbyn’s impassioned plea for Independent politics in Parliament on the eve of the last few days’ campaigning before the general election:
“I’ve fought ten General Election campaigns in Islington North, but this one is the most important.
“For the last six weeks, we’ve seen political leaders throw minorities under the bus. They’ve refused to support policies that would lift children out of poverty. They’ve scapegoated refugees. And their silence over the genocide in Gaza is deafening.

“I may be standing as an independent, but I’m here to represent the people of Islington North with the same principles I’ve always had: democracy, equality, and peace.
“For 40 years I’ve championed causes that other politicians have derided and dismissed, but I’ve never been alone. The people of Islington North have always stood beside me. We have achieved great things by working together. We have won great campaigns. Let’s win one more, together.
“This Thursday, we can show the political class that there’s an alternative to austerity, poverty and war. We can show political leaders that we don’t accept their indifference to the most vulnerable in our society. We, in Islington North, can be a beacon of hope for the entire country.
“Thursday will be the most important day of the entire General Election. Every single vote matters in this.”
If you are in Islington North, you can help win the election for Mr Corbyn. All you have to do is pledge to be part of it – and help get voters to the polling stations on Thursday.
Prior to that day, Mr Corbyn will also be out canvassing on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. If you have not been canvassing before, this will be an excellent introduction for the polling day campaign on Thursday.
