There has been a huge swell of support for Leanne Mohamad in Ilford North.

After This Site’s previous article, Vox Political‘s X feed has been swamped with messages from people who are either going to vote for her on Thursday (July 4) or would if they lived in the constituency.

You can see what’s going on there from the content of Ms Mohamad’s own X feed. Here are a few recent examples:

Ms Mohamad has highly respectable – and respected – supporters:

Yes, she does face opposition. Responses to my article have included words from people saying she doesn’t have a chance; all the polls are saying Wes Streeting will win with a walkover.

But that’s because Streeting and his supporters want voters to fear a continued Tory government – and that’s not going to happen.

Ms Mohamad isn’t about fear; she’s about hope:

Vote out of hope, and not fear.

You probably do not need me to tell you that people like me receive a deluge of daily abuse from online trolls behind screens and journalists in suits. Is it strong enough?

If you are in Ilford North, will you be voting for Ms Mohamad, in hope for a better future? Or will you vote for Streeting or one of the other “main” parties, in denial of the change that you actually need and in fear that someone else will get in if you do otherwise?
