This Site doesn’t often do this but for once I’m going to make a plea off-topic: please help support Connor.

He’s a personal friend, only 21 years old, who was involved in a near-fatal road collision last week. Like many in our small Mid Wales community I was devastated to hear about it.

His injuries are life-changing and any recovery will take a long time. That’s why a crowdfunding site has been set up to help support him. Here’s what it has to say:

The lovely Connor Weale was in a horrific car accident earlier this week which has left him in intensive care and in an induced coma to let his brain heal.

He was seriously injured, suffering 3 injuries to his brain and was operated on for 6 hours by 4 different surgical teams.

As yet we do not know the extent of the damage to his brain and do not know how long he will be in his induced coma.

We won’t know how/if there is any damage until his is awake.

We want to help raise funds to help Connor on his road to recovery. Connor is a kind, caring soul who brings joy into all our hearts and we want to make sure that he has the best help he can.

Connor has a long road ahead of him and none of us know what that will look like currently.

All funds raised will go directly into supporting Connor in any way he needs during this incredibly difficult time.

Obviously I want my friend to have the best care and the most support possible. I don’t expect readers living in other parts of the country – or indeed the world – to feel the same but if you have the wherewithal, please consider making a small donation.
