After seeing the following on Beastrabban’s Weblog, I’m asking you to sign the petition against MPs getting heating allowance – uncapped – for their second homes.

Here are the details:

This is another petition I’ve had absolutely no hesitation in signing. It’s grossly unfair for MPs to be able to claim back the money they’ve spent on heating their second homes while depriving the poor senior citizens of the heating allowance. You may remember that it was antics like this that caused the scandal over MPs expenses way back.

“38 Degrees supporter Mike… set up a petition on the 38 Degrees site calling for MPs to be stripped of their own fuel allowance by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority. He thinks if MPs aren’t willing to lose their allowance, pensioners shouldn’t either – and that they should increase the windfall tax on profit making energy giants instead. [3]
