Keir Starmer will remain unpopular until he accepts the reasons for it – and no number of pledges, pillars, foundations, missions, first steps or milestones can change that, nor can claims of having made “tough decisions” that weren’t and aren’t.
The Labour-In-Name-Only prime minister came under fire last week for what some have described as “yet another relaunch”…

He has also failed to address the real reason for his unpopularity, which may be found in Saul Staniforth’s text accompanying this clip:
And now Starmer has had to contradict his Chancellor and admit it is possible that his government will raise taxes again in the future: “What I can’t do is say to you there are no circumstances unforeseen in the future that wouldn’t lead to any change at all.”
It’s all looking bleak for the new boss who came in trumpeting “change” but now looks the same as the old boss.
