He’s back with a video detailing Gary’s plan to fight inequality.
Gary Stevenson, the trader who made his fortune betting that the UK economy would only get worse (obviously he was right), has returned to YouTube after a six-month break to explain what he wants to do.
He knew Labour was going to win the general election back in July – we all did, really, didn’t we? But he was also convinced that the party would do nothing to reverse the increasing inequality in the system that is causing a huge amount of harm every day.

But his channel has been growing, even when he was not making new content (I hate that word! but it’s the word everyone understands). So he wants to use it to build political leverage. He’s starting a Patreon so he can fund full-time staff for that purpose, saying he’s had a huge boost from the publicist supplied to him by Penguin Books for his memoir, The Trading Game (which is a lot of fun and I recommend you read it).
He doesn’t like making clips in which he speaks direct to camera, he says. Neither do I, as anyone who has seen my much smaller YouTube channel will know. The answer to that is to get someone in to share the time. I’m working on a new podcast – that isn’t totally devoted to politics – with another person and we’re having fun, so I would recommend that Gary tries the same.
Here’s his clip. Have a watch and see if you fancy helping.
