Jonathan Pie exposes Elon Musk's lies. If you want to know why Musk is so badly wrong, come and see for yourself

Jonathan Pie exposes Elon Musk’s lies

Here’s an excellent takedown of the lies that have been publicised by Elon Musk over the last few days, by that bastion of British journalism, Jonathan Pie:

I particularly enjoyed:

“Is Elon Musk really interested in the truth?”

“If he’s so interested in the truth, then why is he so disinterested in the truth?”

“Do you care about the facts of the matter, or are you a bit of a c***?”

“He is not interested in the truth by any stretch, and yet the Tory Party, and the Reform Party, and some twats on Twitter are more than happy to allow him to manipulate our national discourse because it’s politically convenient for them – to use the rape of children to score political points.”

“Not long ago, all they could talk about was British sovereignty, and now they’re all taking directions from an unhinged, unelected, lying South African billionaire.”

I also like the factual reference to the Tories calling a seven-year-long inquiry into child sexual abuse, ignoring every single recommendation it made, and now calling for another inquiry. If Starmer refusing to launch another one makes him look “a bit rapey”, then doesn’t their own disregard of their own inquiry make them all look a lot “rapey”?

I think it might.

As for Musk himself: why does he get so much of our time? Because he’s a self-made billionaire?

Allow me to let you into a secret: there are no self-made billionaires.

They all got where they did with the help of a few other influential people – and by climbing on the backs of a lot of others who did the actual hard work.

And on this or any other subject of public interest, his opinion is worth as much as the next person’s. Probably less, in fact, because the rest of us haven’t been drip-fed poisonous lies by political opportunists.
