He reckons the plan for carbon capture and storage – that would allow polluting businesses like energy generators to continue polluting because the gases they produce would be stored in the mined-out oil and gas fields beneath the North Sea – is untenable because it has not been tested. Good point?
Insulating homes to reduce the need for energy generation would work; putting solar panels on house roofs would work – and they would create jobs in all our communities. But the government didn’t want to do that. Why?

He reckons the plan for Rolls Royce to build 10 Small Modular Reactors producing nuclear power is also based on untested technology and may not work – although some critics have already pointed out that the same firm already makes the reactors for nuclear submarines. This Writer would argue that they will still produce nuclear waste, meaning they aren’t clean at all, no matter what politicians may say.
The Heathrow expansion is known to be based on a fantasy. Rachel Reeves [pictured] based her decision to support the third runway on so-called sustainable air fuel – which, he says, would require half the agricultural land mass available in the UK to provide it, leaving us very little for food farming.

It won’t be the first time a government has led the UK down a rabbit hole – and it probably won’t be the last.
