Does Keir Starmer even measure up as a political leader by his own low standards?
This is a cutting critique:
Keir Starmer is a pound shop Tony Blair. pic.twitter.com/ldeFn2ipcz
— Grace Blakeley (@graceblakeley) August 8, 2023
What Grace Blakeley said, in less than 90 seconds, was that Tony Blair came into office on a wave of enthusiasm for his ideas to change politics in the UK – but they didn’t work.
Now we have to put up with his successor, Keir Starmer, who wants to return to those failed policies… but doesn’t have the showmanship that Blair displayed, to win people over.
It means we can all clearly see that Starmer is flogging a dead horse.
There are lots of other options. Let’s support one of them instead.

Yes, but who? It’s easy for me to choose as I live in Islington North – but elsewhere?
Whoever in any particular constituency has the best policies.
No starmer doesn’t! I wouldn’t trust him to flush my toilet!
As long as those ‘best policies’ aren’t ACTUALLY just (slightly) less bad policies…! Not quite so bad is definitely still bad. If none of those standing are actually worth voting for, go for a positive ‘none of the above’ – write it in. Let’s see how many votes ‘spoilt ballot’ can get in constituencies where the above applies. I would really love to see ‘spoilt ballot’ get ‘elected’! Whoever actually ‘won’ the seat certainly wouldn’t be able to claim the support of his/her/its/their constituency (I’m trying to be politically correct!). Do NOT vote for someone you don’t at least respect as a decent human being!
