This is not the usual Vox Political article: I’ve been contacted by a woman who is trying to pay for a vitally important medical operation.

Evelyn Scott explains:

I am desperate to raise funds for a full hysterectomy. I have endometriosis, which has attacked my organs and left me in crippling pain. It took fifteen years for me to get a diagnosis, and by that time, the damage was already done. The pain is not just limited to my periods either. I am in pain every day. This has resulted in me being in and out of hospital regularly, because sometimes simple opiods at home just don’t cut it. I also struggle to go to the toilet without help, because my endometriosis has caused blockages in my body. It is a life sentence, and one that can only be stopped by a hysterectomy. Sadly, I have been on the waiting list for this procedure for over a year now, and see no end in sight. I am tired of being in agony.
