Israel’s latest UNRWA claim is unsubstantiated hearsay
When This Writer learned that the Israeli government had made another accusation against the United Nations’ aid agency for Palestine, UNRWA, I had absolutely no faith in it.
The previous allegation was that 12 UNRWA employees – 0.04 per cent of the workforce – had been active in Hamas, and so the whole organisation should be de-funded as a result. But there was no evidence to support the claim – and I saw information suggesting that three of the accused were dead, and therefore unable to commit terrorist acts.
It seems I was correct to have concerns. Here‘s The Independent:
Israel ramped up its criticism of the embattled U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees Monday, saying 450 of its employees were members of militant groups in the Gaza Strip, though it provided no evidence to back up its accusation.
Hence my reply to a pro-Israel propaganda mouthpiece on ‘X’:
While it is true that Israel has claimed 450 UNRWA workers were members of militant groups in the Gaza Strip, no evidence has been offered to support it.
Without evidence, this is just an unsubstantiated claim- from an unreliable source.

This messing with the truth is typical of the Israeli government:
If these are substantiated figures, they prove that Israel was lying with its claim of 40 "beheaded babies" back in October.
If only three children aged under three were murdered, it had to be a lie.
(For clarity: this post in no way condones the Oct 7 attack.) https://t.co/dMKPkha5Rh

The upside of it is that at least Israel is debunking its own lies – which suggests that the genocidal government of that country is also staggeringly stupid.
