A Norwegian humanitarian has returned from Gaza with a stark message: ‘Don’t believe Hamas… Don’t believe Israel… Believe the UN’ over Gaza and about the genocide taking place there.
Jan Egeland of the Norwegian Refugee Council said Israeli troops have been murdering indiscriminately in Gaza since they began their campaign in the territory in October 2023, with more than 70 per cent of the casualties being women and children.
He told the BBC Israel’s claims to be targeting Hamas terrorists were “lies”.

And he said nobody should believe the claims of Hamas or Israel. Instead, they should believe the evidence of the Red Cross, the United Nations and other aid organisations that have been in Gaza when journalists have been denied access by Israeli forces.
It is possible he was referring to Francesca Albanese, who has described Israel’s activity in Gaza as a “genocide”.
This Site hopes to present video of Mr Egeland as soon as possible.
His words came after Israeli football fans were attacked in Amsterdam in what has been falsely described as “anti-Semitic violence”.
It is not true that the violence against supporters of Maccabi Tel Aviv who came to watch their team play the Dutch team Ajax was anti-Semitic; that would imply that it was because they were Jewish – and it seems clear from the reports that the attacks were provoked by the campaign of genocide being waged in Gaza by the Israeli government and military.
So these people were attacked because they were citizens of a country run by a genocidal government.
This does not make the attacks any less reprehensible; while it has been claimed that some Maccabi supporters shouted racist slogans about the people of Gaza, others have stated that they do not share their government’s views on the people of that territory.
It is vitally important to get the terms right. Hating a person simply because of their faith and/or ethnicity is wrong; anger against a person who supports genocide is justifiable – but violence against them for it is not.
For one thing, it’s not going to change anybody’s mind – is it?
