“Are there no prisons?”
“Plenty of prisons…”
“And the Union workhouses.” demanded Scrooge. “Are they still in operation?”
“Both very busy, sir…”
“Those who are badly off must go there.”
“Many can’t go there; and many would rather die.”
“If they would rather die,” said Scrooge, “they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.”
I think that is a very sad statement that certain government officials feel that institutionalisation is an adequate solution to an on going problem regarding mental health users’. This is appalling to say the least. Face it, if that didn’t work then, it won’t work now and it will cost a damned sight more in the long term. You know what they say? Insanity is doing the same things whilst expecting different results. They are the ones who need looking at from the neck up and the perpetrators of inflicting misery on thousands of people because their expectations are unrealistic to say the least.
Last night I saw Panorama and reading this article reminded me of what I saw, mentally ill people filled the prisons, most of them unable to afford the medical bills so their illness ended them up in prison, I’m not ashamed to say I cried and they want the same here!!!!!
This country has gone mad – we go more and more like the late 19th Century and we do nothing about it!!
Hopefully this “man” will end up in an asylum with lots of his friends from the tory party – all thinking that they are God or Jesus :)
On a different subject but still related:
Good luck to the strikers on Thursday!

When he talks of the Mentally Ill, does he include his fellow Tories and their supporters?
After all, you’d have to be MAD to ever vote for them…
