ATOS Nurse Writes That PIP Claimant Can Take Nutrition Independently Because They “Looked Overweight” | Same Difference
There are some dangerous, disablist attitudes in these assessment offices, readers. This is mainstream madness at its best!
I just got the medical report from my ATOS PIP assessment and the nurse who wrote it has written in the section for taking nutrition, “She looked overweight therefore it is reasonable to assume that she can take nutrition independently,”. as it happens I can and I did expect to get points on this, but I am thinking that a nurse should know better than to write this since i could easily need help to take nutrition and still be overweight. I thought it to be medically incompetient and demeaning and am I thinking about a complaint to the professional body.

Unfortunately it is pointless to complain about a nurse working for ATOS because ATOS claim they don’t employ them as nurses but as assessors. I sent a detailed complaint to the nmc which of course has an inbuilt imbalance of government appointed lay members 11 of the 21, and was told that as the nurse wasn’t working as a nurse, despite needing the qualification, they could not intervene in any way shape or form. The Nurse had stated she was a nurse and used the RN letters behind her name so as far as I’m concerned she was working as a nurse.
Thats interesting, It’s a criminal offence to offer services as a professional body by deception. If the employer has aided and abetted this, or even not verified qualification, they too could be liable. Specifically, using a false instrument to obtain a pecuniary advantage, not to mention collusion etc.
Quite right Brian,
It doesn’t matter at all how they are employed or what minimal qualifications they claim to have…
Google criminal offences like –
The Fraud Act 2006
Misconduct in Public Office
Witness Intimidation
Perverting The Course of Justice
Offences Against The Person
Criminal Attempts Act 1981
Serious Crime Act 2007 (especially Part 2)
Accessories and Abettors Act 1861
Theft Act 1968 – Section 21 – Blackmail
Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981
Protection from Harassment Act 1997
and
Abuse of Vulnerable Adults
All ‘Need To Know’ stuff if you have to go anywhere near any part of the dwp’s gang.
You could then try Googling “Honest Cop” or “Honest Politician” or “Honest Lawyer” but so far I’ve got zero results for those searches. (see The Bribery Act 2010)
.
Oh, and don’t forget to record *everything*.

Interesting stuff,I had long wondered how they were getting away with using healthcare professionals but not allowing them to use their qualification. As these people are just ticking boxes, they might as well not have any medical qualification. We should look into whether we can make a case for fraud and collusion with the professionals and the DWP.
i’m the very opposite mike very thin but they never make any comment on me it could be as i look like billy bob it’s best to say nothing and get out
Forgive the possibly ignorant comment, but is this recent, because I thought Maximus had the contract now ?
Maximus runs ESA assessments.
Atos is a current contract holder for PIP assessments.
Maximus may run the scam now but they took all the staff to continue their scam
Same old, same old… and yet, so it begins…
I’m obviously underweight and have fortijuice supplements
The atos nurse said I can prepare and eat food without prompting or assistance. They just lie. The only thing I might be able to get her on is that she changed a diagnosis. My consultant said chronic fatigue but she changed it to tiredness. I believe that she has now transferred the duty of care to ATOS and that I can report her for malpractice as a nurse pretending to be a doctor. They cannot call me a claiment now because her diagnosis makes me a patient. Am I correct? And since I can prove she lied on all the other questions and the outcome caused me financial loss and physical harm can I report her for fraud?
Weight should not matter it’s how illness affects you that matters .they twist around what you say most of the report. Was a load of lies
Take these cases to Accountability Scotland or Scottish Review and most of all Jim Martin the Scottish Public Ombudsman
