The evidence shows that Tory Government ministers were wrong, but we live in the era of evidenceless politics.

Does anybody honestly think that a Conservative will admit making a mistake – especially when the end result is harm to the National Health Service, which they hate?

The Government has been urged to row back on “disastrous” plans to scrap bursaries for student nurses and midwives.

Former shadow health secretary Andy Burnham said the decision to replace bursaries with student loans had resulted in a “worrying” 23% drop in applications from prospective nursing students.

Ministers had previously said the reforms would help increase nursing posts and help students from different backgrounds to take up the role.

The real stupidity of this is that by damaging the NHS to push forwards the privatisation plans the remnants will not be of any value to the private sector especially as they will find it difficult to recruit nurses, which currently the NHS not the private sector is responsible for training.

I suppose should not have been a surprise to anyone with just a small amount of common sense unfortunately we are talking lame brain hooray henries making dire decisions because they lack any business acumen or any common sense whatsoever. The decision was/is part of their end game to destroy the NHS and bring in their vulture friends to help themselves.
