George Osborne claims his own experts are wrong about benefit tourism – despite ‘no proof’ it exists

Last Updated: January 15, 2016By

Having just published an article saying Tory Louise Mensch’s head buttons up the back, here’s George Osborne, a man who doesn’t known when to keep his own mouth buttoned up.

In the words of Blackadder: Oh look! There goes Thick George. He’s got a brain the size of a weasel’s wedding tackle.

George Osborne claims his own experts are wrong about benefit tourism and it IS a problem – despite the Tories producing no proof it exists.

The Chancellor insisted people “abuse free movement just to come to our country and claim our benefits” in the face of doubts by the Office of Budget Responsibility he set up.

Mr Osborne was defiant last night over the Tories’ plan for a four-year ban on migrants’ in-work benefits, which is a key part of David Cameron ‘s EU renegotiation.

Reports have claimed Germany may accept some aspects of the plans – but only if hundreds of thousands of Brits lose their benefits too.

Oh look. Another Tory idiot, convinced his delusions are must be the truth simply because he believes they are. We’ve heard that one before, haven’t we, IDS? ¬_¬

Is it just me, or has Cameron stuffed his Cabinet with self-deluded raving lunatics?

However strong the evidence to the contrary, the Tories don’t want to let go of their nasty and divisive dogma.

Gideons bible is not the focus of Osborne. He wants all opposition to his fake economic activities marginalised whether harming UK nationals or other EU nationals.
Media editors are being used to support fictional policies which act as distractions for the real policies not effectively opposed due to the infighting of the blue labour/ blairites with left wing supporters trying to return the labour party to its roots. The tories are so far right to encourage support from UKIP and the BNP. They have reached the abyss and are ready to step into it with draconian policies.
Is there a way forward to prevent the harm and carelessness of Tories. ?
yes a vote of no confidence in the government.

Labour is not as distracted by infighting as you claim, and is perfectly capable of voicing opposition to all duff Tory policies.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for that confidence vote.

One has to wonder how this will play in Europe. They must howl with laughter at us over there.

Problem being of course neither Osbourne or IDS will have any problems agreeing to Germany’s demand, gives them the opportunity to do some hand wringing and saying ‘we had no option, the EU forced it upon us!

its difficult for many migrants born outside of europe to get UK visa entries.
The Border agency require a bank statement of the visitor, this doesnt include other important info ie date of return and reason for return (work) to country in which they reside.
This should be remembered when ‘ recourse’ to public funds( welfare benefits) is debated. so mostly the migrsnts from outside europe visit either having secured employment, or as students with costs paid for by their country of origin.
migrants other than these are for the majority undergoing extreme hardship, insecurity and risks of death and torture to even think of travelling to europe.
marriage to european nationals are another type of migrant, however its unlikely in these cases recourse to public funding is the focus of the migrant coming to the UK.
These are facts ignored by the media in their report probably because of their right wing bias or these facts are not inkeeping with the true picture of migrants.
most migrants have a long drawn out procedure and interviews, applications online, to complete before embarking on their journey to the UK.
More recently in Syria for example migrants with no other option became migrants and the Border Agency procedures are bypassed with some border controls in Europe. This has allowed infiltration by other migrants probably economic, and former and current terrorists to enter these increasing numbers and enabling the bypassing of the Border agency entry criteria. Bombing Syria has not and never will improve matters, only increase the hardship for Syrians and the numbers of migrants at best and being the cause of more deaths in the civilian populstion. surely deposing Assad by sanctions which undermine his credibility should be implemented together with ground troops from surrounding areas which completely demobilise ISIL is the best way forward. Bombing will achieve nothing positive only more misery, broken morale and defeatism amongst the syrian population.
