Cameron’s plan to take away your rights with ‘second-tier membership’ of EU for UK

Does David Cameron seriously think anybody in the UK is going to accept what he’s proposing as a good settlement with the EU?

He wants the UK to be a “second-tier” member of the Union. What does that mean? That we don’t take part in the decision-making and don’t accept the result of every decision? In that case, why remain in the EU at all?

Most importantly, he wants to remove your rights as citizens of the EU, so you will not be able to rely on the legal protections offered by Europe’s Charter of Fundamental Rights.

Shouldn’t he be adding to those rights instead?

This deal is getting worse all the time. It seems to This Writer that we should have a referendum on whether we accept Cameron’s tinkering before we get anywhere near a decision on whether to stay in the European Union.

David Cameron is hoping for an EU agreement to rebrand the UK as a second-tier member and an “emergency brake” on immigration if public services are overwhelmed, according to reports.

Cameron has struggled to get agreement from the other 27 leaders in the EU for his aims on limiting migrant benefits, having demanded they live in the UK for four years before they can claim.

However, a report in the Sunday Times said Cameron is nearing a deal on alternative proposals. It said he is hoping to rebrand Britain as a different sort of member state in the outer circle of Europe, and the revival of the idea of an “emergency brake” on EU migration to Britain, enabling the government to block new arrivals if public services become overwhelmed.

It also said Cameron will try to change domestic law to make clear that parliament is sovereign and that courts are not bound by Europe’s charter of fundamental rights.

This would come on top of some of Cameron’s other demands, which are already believed to have been secured, including a red card system for groups of national parliaments to block EU laws, and protections for non-eurozone countries.

Well it seems that Camoron has not actually laid out why he is asking for, probably so he can claim to have got everything he asked for before the referendum. The european court of human right is nothing to do with the eussr, so we can pull out of that anyway.

He wants four changes; they have been listed on This Blog.
A cursory search of relevant sources should reveal them to you.
