Don’t let the Tories win because of laziness or apathy – make sure you VOTE on Thursday

Last Updated: June 5, 2017By

I saw this in a tweet today: “If you want to vote Labour on the 8th but don’t think you will go due to laziness, let me know – I’ll literally carry you there on my back.”

It was a genuine offer from a person who knows that there’s only thing that could really stop Labour from beating Theresa May and her Tories on Thursday – the apathy of the party’s own voters.

Hundreds of thousands of 18-24 year olds have signed up to vote – and if you’re one of them I’m delighted; it won’t do any good at all if you don’t exercise that right, and vote Labour for your future.

Millions of long-term sick and disabled people have the right to vote already – and if you’re one of them, you must already know that another five years of Tory work capability assessments will be a death sentence for many of you; in your case, vote Labour for your very survival.

If you’re a senior citizen, you know that the Tories want to take away your winter fuel payments in the hope that you’ll die of hypothermia and they won’t have to keep paying your pension. If you need care in your home, you know the Tories want to make you use the value of that home to pay for your care, leaving you with nothing to pass on to your heirs. You have already paid for your healthcare once; you should not have to do it again. Vote Labour for fairness in your twilight years.

So many people have already suffered under the Conservatives. Many millions more will suffer if they are allowed to continue with their policies of hatred and division.

Don’t believe anybody who says your vote doesn’t matter – non-voters outnumbered the support for every party in the 2015 election and if they had voted then, the United Kingdom might be a very different place today.

Your vote matters more than ever before.

It WILL make a difference.

Use it.

Vote Labour on Thursday.

Then we can all get away from the Tory Hell we’re having to endure now.

I’ll happily help anyone living near me, if they can’t get to a polling station under their own steam.

Please contact your CLPs and offer to help on polling day (if not also before then, as well). People power is needed to make this happen.

No matter what the weather does on Thursday make certain you get out and vote Labour for a sunnier future rather than a bleak future. You’ve seen the results of the last seven years of Tory rule for ordinary normal people and it hasn’t been my idea of anything approaching fairness or equality.

VOTE, VOTE, VOTE, …VOTE FOR JC4PM – He can do it if we all get out there and Vote. Let’s get some humanity and decency into politics. Vote the fraudulent Tories out.

My wife and I will be voting tactically to keep a Tory out, because Labour are as rare as rocking horse poo and unicorns where we live.

Just a thought. Would you suggest that I vote Labour, considering the 2015 result in my constituency?

Calum Kerr – Scottish National Party (SNP) – 20,145
John Lamont – Scottish Conservative and Unionist – 19,817
Michael Moore – Scottish Liberal Democrats – 10,294
    Kenryck Lloyd-Jones – Scottish Labour Party – 2,700

Same SNP and Tory candidates this time. Different Labour one but I doubt that will make a difference since they have never had a Labour MP here.
It is irrelevant whether I am an SNP supporter or not. Voting Labour would almost certainly result in yet another Tory at Westminster.

You vote for the person and the party whose policies are best for you.

I will and luckily it won’t help the Tories.

I’m working away, on tour but I sent my postal vote on Saturday. I still can’t believe, however, that some people failed to register and despite numerous reminders, some of those on tour with me, failed to organise postal, or proxy votes! My brother believe that it’s all a big conspiracy so, he won’t vote and he is not alone and many others will vote for politicians, or parties that they don’t want, in order to prevent somebody, whom they believe will win, from winning! This frustrates me no end. If you don’t like what’s on offer, spoil your paper but vote!
