Immigration/Nazis: read history more carefully, says Cleverly – and so he should

James Cleverly: has he ever read a history book – or, indeed, any book at all?

Look at the state of this:

He’s right and wrong at the same time.

People should indeed read their history books more carefully – he’s right on that! – but if they do, they’ll find that the UK is not – historically – a welcoming country.

See for yourself:

So half a million Jewish people were denied entry into the United Kingdom in the 1930s, despite the obvious cruelty of the Nazi regime in Germany – including Oskar Goldberg’s family who died at Auschwitz as part of the Nazi Holocaust.

And – how convenient! – nobody knows how many of the others, who were turned down or turned away, also died in the Nazi Holocaust.

And now Suella Braverman – with the support of the rest of the Tory government including Cleverly – wants to turn away similar numbers of refugees, behind a smokescreen that she is foiling “criminal gangs”.

How many of them will suffer and die on foreign soil, after being denied safety here? How can anyone with a conscience look at the UK’s own history and support this inhumane and internationally illegal policy?

James Cleverly needs to read these two history books but he won’t because the authors provide succinct real evidence little england has always viewed refugees as ‘nasty foreigners!’

Bloody Foreigners: The Story of Immigration to Britain by Robert Winder and
Hostile Environment: How Immigrants Became Scapegoats by Maya Goodfellow.

Cleverly is just another ignorant fascist tory who needs to think before he utters such inane and stupid claims!

Foiling the gangs? How, when they have already been paid for the journey.

I have recently had to choose between heating and eating (I’ve recently been using a hot water bottle for warmth), but I would give up my sofa if it put a roof over the head of someone who needs a safe place to stay. Refugees are welcome in my home.

    Good article.

You only have to read Shakespeare & Dickens(or even the Bible) to realise how long this country has been negative towards Jews, if they are mentioned at all it is usually not in a positive light. If there is a bad egg, he/she is easy to spot – he’s the foreigner – Gypsy, Cossacks, Bulgars, Mafia, Mad Mullahs, Vlad, Frankenstein, Drakula, they are all foreigners. There is never any mention in our history of the many evil murderous villains, but they were numerous…while we welcomed the Banderite Gallicia Division to this country(reviled for their extreme Nazism even Hitler feared, torturing and murdering Poles, Russians, eastern Ukrainians, Jews & Moslems.) We have an underlying current of bigotry taught us from an early age because we are entitled, being superior to any and all ethnics. Unless of course you defy the dogma and opt to make your own mind up.

Agatha Christie’s novels have anti-Jewish passages too.
