Wes Streeting says Labour will not invest in the UK’s greatest resource
Too harsh? If Streeting supports Tory policies – particularly on the NHS – then what is he?
From a certain point of view, Shadow Health Secretary Wes Streeting has made it clear that a Labour government will refuse to invest in the greatest resource the UK has – the health of its people.
Consider this:

Now consider this:
Dear Wes Streeting, the NHS is an investment not a cost.
Every £1 invested in NHS is estimated to benefit the wider economy by many times that.
The truth is we need a strong NHS for strong economy.
We can never have a strong economy with a weak NHS.

If there is “waste and inefficiency”, This Writer’s gut instinct is that it arises from the bureacratisation of the service in order to bring it in line with private health practices.
The big question, of course, is why Streeting expects there to be any “winter crisis” under a Labour government, when Labour has spent so many years telling the Tories such events are due to their policies. Is Keir Starmer’s party just going to follow the Tory lead now?
The best way to get rid of any waste would be to remove all elements of privatisation and get it back to what it should be doing: fixing injuries, curing illnesses and caring for people who are ill.
