Will the UK's election put proportional representation on the agenda?

Floodgates open for Independents announcing they’ll stand at general election

Jody McIntyre is the latest UK citizen to announce he will stand for election as an Independent MP at the next general election.

As his video clip below makes clear, he says he is doing this in protest at the way Jess Phillips, the Labour MP for the Birmingham Yardley constituency in which he is standing, supports Israel’s genocide of the people of Gaza:

Mr McIntyre, who is disabled, has been active in politics for more than a decade – and can expect little support from the mainstream media. Here he is, being asked by a BBC News reporter if he threatened police at a demonstration, in his wheelchair, by “rolling towards the police”. He can’t even move his chair by himself:

Also just announced is the Workers’ Party’s new candidate for Cheadle:

And there are more. One has to agree with Sameh Habeeb that unseating Labour MPs has become an issue of crucial importance for voters across the UK who are sickened by Keir Starmer’s perversion of a once-great political force.

The movement against Starmer’s Labour can only be accelerated by allegations that he has rigged the selections of party election candidates:

But Labour-held constituencies are not the only ones that are seeing Independent candidates rise to challenge the incumbents. Conservative and Liberal Democrat-held seats are also up for grabs.

How about you? Do you fancy your chances against the absolute rabble we have in Westminster at the moment?
