Is Keir Starmer now trying to re-define genocide?

Labour’s attitude to Israel’s genocide is demonstrably wrong

That great video maestro of the Left, Saul Staniforth, has put together a series of clips exposing Labour’s hypocrisy over Israel’s genocide in Gaza – and it is compelling viewing, showing that Labour’s attitude to Israel is demonstrably wrong.

He was prompted to create it by the words of Labour Party chair Annaliese Dodds, who tried to tell the UK that Labour has been “very clear” when Israel’s behaviour has not been acceptable. Mr Staniforth married that with the now-infamous clip of Keir Starmer saying Israel has the right to commit war crimes against the innocent people of Gaza.

From there, the list of Labour’s verbal hypocrisies has extended – as you can see for yourself:

Nandy was clearly wrong and knew it; she just wasn’t going to admit it.

Cutting off food and water to somebody who is not trying to harm you is not an act of self-defence, but Emily Thornberry tried to argue that it is. She then tried to say her answer was appropriate; it wasn’t.

Moving people out of their homes so they can be bombed (either the homes or the people, as it turned out) is against international law because it is collective punishment and that is a war crime.

A siege that endangers civilians is against international law, but David Lammy has been trying to deny this:

Lammy was trying to say that if a military force was hiding in a refugee camp, that would make it a target. But no evidence has been offered to prove that anyone from Hamas was ever doing such a thing – or hiding in hospitals, schools, or any other community facility.

Here’s Keir Starmer being a hypocrite:

So Labour supports collective punishment, then – even though it’s a war crime?

Even though we have seen that Israel can perform surgical strikes that do not harm innocent civilians, Israel has chosen not to carry out such procedures against Hamas. Instead, it has carpet-bombed Gaza, murdering more than 30,000 innocent civilians and injuring more than 70,000.

Knowing this, Labour opposes a ceasefire:

The argument that Labour cannot support a ceasefire because it might form a UK government in the near future is nonsense because what Israel is doing amounts to collective punishment of the innocent people of Gaza, and that is a war crime.

Criticism of Israel by Labour members is banned:

So Israel is grateful to both Labour and the Tory government for providing a smokescreen under which it can perform its genocide.

Are we clear on all that?
