Rishi Sunak made millions from the financial crash he’s blaming on Labour

Let’s enjoy a small but informative treat from Jonathan Pie: Rishi Sunak made millions from the financial crash he’s blaming on Labour

One small quibble before you watch it: at the end of the clip, Pie claims that there’s no money left. This is not true. There is always money available to a government like that of the UK, that can create its own. See this article for more information.

Here’s Jonathan:

He’s right about the note left by Labour’s outgoing Chief Secretary to the Treasury: it was a running – private – joke between governments that had been ongoing for decades. The Tories simply decided to make it public in order to embarrass the Labour Party.

In other words, the fuss over that letter was nothing but a dirty trick by the Tories, that they have managed to keep going for 14 years.

Labour didn’t crash the economy in 2008 – that’s exactly right. Rishi Sunak, Kwasi Kwarteng and Sajid Javid did.

Sunak then profited massively from what happened next, as described.

The amounts quoted as examples of Tory overspending – on “test and trace”, uncollected fraud, that prison barge for allegedly illegal immigrants, and Michelle Mone.

The blame levelled at Liz Truss is entirely justified. She caused the hike in mortgage payments.

Nadhim Zahawi dodged tax.

Inflation coming down doesn’t mean anything because prices are still going up.

This is important information.

But just remember: all the information about Labour refers to the party before Keir Starmer took over.

Labour now is as bad as the Conservative Party over the last 14 years.
