Join Jeremy Corbyn canvassing in Islington North on Friday and Sunday

You are invited to join Jeremy Corbyn canvassing in Islington North on Friday and Sunday – if you can.

Mr Corbyn has handed in his nomination papers to be an Independent candidate for the constituency, and now the hard work begins.

He said: “I’m going to be honest with you. This campaign won’t be easy. Unlike our rivals we have no party machine behind us. We can’t spend big on social media adverts. And the media is certainly not on our side.

But we do have people power and together we can make the difference. I know there are thousands of dedicated people who will knock on doors, make calls and have the conversations needed to win this campaign.

“Let’s get to work and knock on every door, in every street, in every corner of Islington North.”

That is why he is asking for people to join him for canvassing tomorrow – Friday, June 7 – and on Sunday (June 9).

It is simple to get involved. Drop in anytime between 11am and 6pm to my campaign HQ at London Fashion Centre, 89-93 Fonthill Road N4 3JH (at the back of the shopping centre and up the stairs). You’ll be given a quick briefing, join a group of other volunteers and then head out door-knocking.

There will be many more door-knocking sessions between now and the election on July 4, and you are invited to join the Canvassers for Corbyn WhatsApp group to get updates about canvassing opportunities across Islington North.

Please share this article on social media so as many people as possible have the details they need.

This will be a hard general election campaign for Independent candidates. The mainstream media have made it clear that they are only interested in the Labour and Conservative candidates, and their coverage gives those parties a hugely unfair advantage with the public.

But people power – and Mr Corbyn’s high public profile, both in Islington North and beyond – may prove to be enough to win the day. Let’s help him win.
