Should MPs be banned from lying?

Keir Starmer is a hypocrite about TV election debates

In his own words, Keir Starmer is a hypocrite about TV election debates.

After he withdrew from a seven-party debate that was to be broadcast by the BBC on June 7, Tory leader Rishi Sunak also pulled out, as did Ed Davey of the Liberal Democrats. They probably – rightly – reasoned that it was not worth their time if all the major party leaders weren’t going to be there.

Then we find Starmer has said this about such behaviour (apologies about the chant at the end; I didn’t make the video):

I’m assuming this was made back in 2022, when Tory MPs were competing to replace Boris Johnson as the prime minister and the UK was sweating in a heatwave.

It shows that Starmer’s words cannot be trusted. He says whatever suits him at any time, and is perfectly happy to contradict himself at a later date.

Remember that when the Labour Party manifesto is published: it won’t be worth the time it takes to read it.
