Donald Trump’s hypocrisy over UK politicians interfering in the US election

Look at Donald Trump’s hypocrisy over UK politicians interfering in the US election!

The former – and possibly future – US president is reportedly disgruntled about “blatant foreign interference” in the US presidential election campaign, in the form of UK Labour Party staff going to the States to support his rival, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

The implication is that members of a UK political party are trying to influence the result of that election, to their own advantage.

According to the BBC,

The Trump campaign complaint to the commission flags that senior Labour Party staff attended the Democratic convention in Chicago and met Harris’s campaign team, naming Morgan McSweeney, the prime minister’s chief of staff, and Matthew Doyle, Downing Street director of communications.

But UK prime minister Keir Starmer has said the party staff mentioned were volunteers “doing it in their spare time”. It seems Labour has not funded or organised these trips.

Foreign nationals are permitted to volunteers in political campaigns in the US as long as they are not compensated, according to Federal Election Commission rules.

In any case, what about this?

In fact, it seems Farage has used £33,000 of donor cash to support Donald Trump, months before any complaint was made about Labour members.

Apparently, that’s fine by Donald, even though Farage being paid seems to clearly breach US election rules. Yet he complains about people from another UK party providing free support to his opponent.

As an aside…. Is this the same Donald Trump who did a PR stunt serving at McDonalds then two days later an Ecoli outbreak wiped $12m off their profits?

Not necessarily connected, but since when did HE let a little thing like the truth get in the way of a good story?
So why the hell should I ?
