The Guardian kowtows to Starmer by twisting the news to make him look better - and gets away with it because the rest of us can't be seen

Selective reporting: Guardian kowtows to Starmer with news headline

This is exactly why you need an uncensored independent source of news – and that’s exactly why you’re not about to get it while the Guardian kowtows to Starmer

The Graun published an article stating that prime minister Keir Starmer is the most right-wing of all Labour MPs.

Then one supposes that somebody at that hack-rag realised that Labour is still being presented to the country as left-wing, even though it isn’t – so they changed the headline so it now says Starmer is the least left-wing of all Labour MPs.

But whoever was responsible for it, either by accident or design, neglected to change the link wording on the online version of the article, so we could all see it still proclaiming his Toryism for all to see.

Skwawkbox‘s analysis of the article – and the changes it has undergone – is frankly hilarious. That is, it would be hilarious if it didn’t show that the media are constantly misleading us in their political reporting:

Both versions of the article then, laughably, go on to claim that ‘Parliament has moved decisively to the left’ because of the election of Starmeroid MPs, who like their boss are comfortably to right of old Tories on many issues and lean police-state if not outright neo-fascist, as the government’s current war on journalists and activists who expose Israel’s crimes and his eager participation in Israel’s genocide and war crimes demonstrate. The headline change led to accusations that the Guardian had been pressured by Starmer’s office to change the headline to protect his (already rightly trashed) image.

This is hardly the Guardian’s first outing in terms of protecting the Labour right or colluding with government. In 2018, as Starmer and co intensified their campaign to sabotage Corbyn’s Labour electorally by pushing for the party to announce a second EU referendum, the paper published claims that ‘92% of [Momentum] members want Labour to back second vote’. The claim was entirely untrue – 92% had said they didn’t want the party to back Theresa May’s poor Brexit deal. The paper also joined voraciously in the state’s and right-wing press’s attacks on Corbyn, indeed it was regarded by many as one of the worst offenders because of its posturing as a left-liberal rag.

It’s like a conspiracy of censorship.

Good reporting, such as happens here, on Skwawkbox, on The Crispin Flintoff Show, or on any number of other online politics-based sites, is being suppressed to leave supposed “mainstream” media “content”-shovellers free to funnel this drivel into your brain.

Why do you put up with it?
