Jeremy Corbyn asks: is this Typical American Extravagance, in a discussion of what the US elections mean for the world, online today (7.30pm, Tuesday, October 29, 2024).
This time next week, Americans will be getting ready to vote in our of the most important elections for a generation. Whether Harris or Trump, the result will have deep consequences for global politics from conflicts in the Middle East and Europe, to the climate emergency and the huge rise in people seeking asylum around the world.
That’s why this evening the Peace and Justice Project will be hosting a special briefing on the US elections. Titled Typical American Extravagance, inspired by the anti-imperialist and Tanzanian politician Julius Nyerere, the discussion will be chaired by the project’s founder, Jeremy Corbyn.
