Why keep on calling “the spare room subsidy ” a bedroom tax this another labour mantra?

Bryn, for the last time, there is not and never has been any such thing as a spare room subsidy!

          State underoccupation charge, in fact.
If the Bedroom Tax was in fact a spare room subsidy, the government would be paying MORE to people who have extra rooms in their dwellings.
In fact (again), the Tories and Liberal Democrats were saying they were REMOVING said subsidy – which would require it to have been voted into law in the first place.
Can YOU tell me which Act of Parliament enshrined this particular payment of a special amount of taxpayers’ money – for the specific purpose of subsidising people who had been allocated dwellings (by their local council or housing association) that had more rooms than they needed – in law? I have been asking the same question of many people for the last few months and none – NOT ONE OF THEM – has ever been able to provide an answer.
Sorry to come down so hard about this but there has never – ever – been any such thing as a ‘spare room subsidy’ paid to UK social housing tenants. Never.

I’m utterly confused now. Anyway subsidy or tax,the whole thing is a shambles and ultimately unworkable.

Well, on that we can certainly agree.

“You can check this out on Google”! You’re having a laugh, aren’t you?

As most councils are controlled by Labour, it is this none elected Tory led central Government that are cutting all the local budgets so Labour are in a hopeless position do anything about it. Spilt and divide that is what this none elected Tory led regime want the public to believe in, and it seems to be working. Or do you want labour to go back to its militant tendency days so they will all be breaking the law again and be disqualified?

Wirral Council are one of the most crooked set of public servants that ever came together. This situation was permitted to develop over many years. We had an opportunity to clear out the vermin a couple of years back, with a so-called independent review by AKA Associates, but…it failed ultimately to investigate councillors, the heart of the disease.

So the public got fobbed off…the “Trade Union” of local authorities the LGA was called in by the abusers, performed the usual expensive whitewash, and very quickly, hey presto! twisted, self-serving parity was restored.

The council took £736,756.91 from learning disabled people over 8 years. This was followed by the spiteful and inhumane bullying, mobbing and removal of whistleblower Martin Morton, who spoke up in good faith and the interests of the greater good.

The administration spent well over £1 million issuing bumper pay-offs to several abusers, who were eased out, but without any disciplinary action. These pay-offs were accompanied by compromise agreements with gags, and clean bills of health, allowing the abusers to pick up their careers elsewhere.
