Britain to be kicked out of Europol against its will | The Independent

The Brexit bill keeps adding up, doesn’t it?

The loss of shared criminal databases could do the UK a lot of harm, especially at a time when the threat of terrorist attack is never far away.

But that’s the price that around a quarter of the population voted to pay. Okay, around a third of those who were qualified to vote at the time. And a large number of those would make a different decision given the chance today, we’re told.

But we’re doing it anyway!

How ridiculous. The UK is the laughing-stock of the world.

Britain will no longer be a member of the European police agency Europol after it leaves the European Union, the European Commission’s chief negotiator has said.

Speaking at a security conference in Berlin Michel Barnier accused the UK [of] abandoning the defence of Europe at a time when it should be standing “shoulder to shoulder” with its neighbours in the EU.

The UK government said as recently as September that it wants to remain inside Europol and retain other EU security benefits such as the European Arrest Warrant and shared criminal databases.

“And a large number of those would make a different decision given the chance today, we’re told.” Nicely qualified “we’re told”, but without a source it sounds like another piece of ‘false news’.
I’m sure the actual Police channels will remain in operation, no matter what Michel Barnier has to say, though EuroPol has been a rather one-way street with GCHQ and other UK security services putting in huge amounts of information and the eager Police always willing to arrest British nationals for other EU states, something some other EU states don’t seem to keen on honouring in return.

There are plenty of poll results showing people who voted Leave would vote Remain, given the chance to reconsider.
      Here’s one: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/your-area-regret-voting-brexit-9810159
With more than 44,000 respondents, there can’t be any question about whether it is reliable, can there?

Yet, you use a basis source that is known for printing rubbish.

The real story they twisted is that of those who voted to STAY, all but 13% remainers regretted their decision to stay because of what happened after brexit with the hate labelling, behaviour of the EU, Remainer MP’s and Businesses, and it continues to happen. If given another chance to vote they said they would vote to leave.

This fabricated story you posted a link to has been circulating for over a year now, some rubbish the remainers re-wrote and twisted to support their narrative.

Even if they republished the original report I am sure it would be the same or less in favour for the EU because more and more bad things keep happening.

Yet, you have no source for the rubbish you’ve posted in your comment.
Feel free to keep trying to argue, though – it does your cause more harm than anything I could say.

I don’t think that a story posted in a rabid remain supporting rag can be taken as gospel any more than those printed in pro Britain papers. Europe is there for the benefit of that amorphous being the eu citizen, personally as a British citizen not an eu one I will not be affected.

Do you have any evidence that the story is inaccurate?
          Thought not.

Has this European Police actually prevented and murders or plots, or maybe it the nasty Tories want this to happen?. Why did our police forces loose so many bobbies sacked, I wonder?.
