Woodcock is ‘planning’ to resign the Labour whip – when it will do most damage to the party?

Last Updated: March 29, 2018By

John Woodcock: If he’s going to go, he should just get on with it.

This is sickening, isn’t it?

An MP who owes everything he has to the Labour Party has (apparently) said he is planning to resign the party whip in protest at Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership.

But he hasn’t done it yet – and my bet is he won’t until the most damaging moment possible for the party that has supported him for his entire political life.

Otherwise, why not do it now?

Most of us can’t wait to see the back of him. Some are even satirising the moment he does go:

And one more thing…

What about this?

John Woodcock is planning to resign the Labour whip in protest at the party’s direction under Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership.

The Barrow and Furness MP has told friends that recent rows over Russia and anti-Semitism, as well as Owen Smith’s sacking and moves to unseat Dan Jarvis have pushed him to breaking point.

Mr Woodcock has long been been an outspoken critic of Mr Corbyn, and said before last year’s general election that he could not vote to make him Prime Minister.

He’s such a prize pillock. Hopefully it’ll be done for him. The ironic side of this is that he would have lost his seat but for the Corbyn surge at the last GE.

Good riddance John – hope you find happiness and fulfillment.

Obviously working against the party, would have thought that reason enough to kick him out of the party?

They are Crawling Out the Woodwork and cannot wait to get on the Bandwagon again and accuse and repeat the same old nonsense.

    They have never changed

Corbyn has handled a few things badly recently and after the gains and awe of the GE has slackened. Need keep the momentum going and have a fresh new vigorous PR campaign. or as it has, it has slackened mistakes have been made and they are jumping in.

after few changes in local elections Harriet Harman declared Corbyn unelectable and needing a new leader, after all the gains and reducing Tory lead in Parliament and Stephen Kinnock gobsmacked at the gains at GE.

It is there, still is, daggers drawn, kept in hiding behind their cloaks of smiles and agreements.

He has made some mistakes, needs to step it up.

They should whip him and give him the boot another Blairit

Then if this is his spoken plan the whip should be taken away from him as soon as possible to prevent this from happening.

    Woodcock is one of many!
We have circa 184 MP’s who all voted against the people, in Tory Welfare Bill.

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/these-are-the-184-labour-mps-who-didn-t-vote-against-the-tories-welfare-bill-10404831.html

If we replaced these with proper Labour people, we’d never be out of office.

This is what Tories are afraid of and why they are attacking.
The current 5 yr old ‘antisemitic’ attack, is to stop Corbyn / Labour criticising Tory ‘Free Speech’ attacks. Then today a 15 yr old story on Patricia Hewitt and Pedophiles is front page news. How many times do these issues need addressing?
This then makes Labour look bad on both fronts, which can’t be further from the truth!

Has he done it yet? I can’t keep up with it all.

What we all need is some kind of analysis of the affects this is having on Labour members in his constituency. And similar information on other constituencies with anti-Corbyn MPs.
Are the local members sympathetic to anti-Corbyn views ? Or stymied in some way?
