If David Dimbleby is leaving the BBC’s Question Time, what horror will replace him?

Even-handed? David Dimbleby, probably addressing a socialist in the Question Time audience.

Some may think it is a relief to see former Bullingdon boy and sadly biased QT chairman David Dimbleby relinquish the role.

But who will replace Dimbles after his quarter-of-a-century-long stint?

I have a terrible theory about that.

Perhaps science has discovered the secret of human cloning and the BBC has at long last found the perfect person to put forward its pro-Tory propaganda:

Joseph Goebbels.

David Dimbleby is to leave Question Time after 25 years on the BBC’s flagship political programme.

The presenter, who will leave the show at the end of the year, said it was “the right moment to leave”.

I have it on good authority that they want someone well balanced and with a simple, unbiased view of things, and that the front runner is Katie Hopkins.

The official view of This Site is that nobody here knows who that person is.

They should put an end to their own self styled ridiculous pretence and give the job to either Jonathan Harmsworth, Richard Desmond, James Murdoch or that chap editing The Evening Standard.

he wasn’t bad but the truth is he couldn’t handle stuff going on in the real world and he always told me that

i only met him once and told him I look out for those that have died in going through welfare reform and although interested at the time never ever got back to me as promised

they all do it cant handle on what really is going on’ most shameful really as they are all quite well regarded by the public but the reality is they know nothing and forget very easily the past discussions you had with them

That highly credible hack, Isabel Oakeshott or Question Time resident gurner, Nigel Farage ? I wonder how many lefties they will interview for the job ?!

Didn’t like his father or his brother – the Tory establishment. I suspect another Tory hardliner will take over.

I didn’t realise it was that long! Although I must say I’m getting more and more annoyed at both the radio and television Dimblebys (Dimblebies?). Both of them spend too much time interrupting the speakers, with the result the audience doesn’t get to hear the answer to the question. For both programmes, the frequent shout in our house is “Shut Up Dimbleby!”
