Tory policies are forcing shivering, starving children to brave sub-zero temperatures in rags

Temperatures have plummetted lately but poverty-stricken children are turning up at school in rags, with no food in their bellies.

That is the legacy of nine years’ Conservative government.

Voters would have to be cruel to the point of psychosis to allow this to go on any longer.

But that is exactly what the Conservatives want.

Child poverty could very quickly reach a 60-year high if the Tories are elected again, according to the Resolution Foundation.

If you don’t want school children to go hungry, there’s only one thing to do:

Vote Labour.

A teacher has shared her sadness over shivering schoolchildren who do not own winter coats.

As temperatures plummet, the teacher has told of how her pupils have been showing up to school with holes in their shoes and without coats on.

The primary school teacher, who wishes to remain anonymous, told GrimsbyLive that one child showed up in a blazer bought for a family occasion because he had “nothing else to keep him warm”.

This is reminiscent of some of those old Social Reports from the 1860s that I read a few years back whilst researching my family history, reports of substandard living conditions, overcrowded dwellings, lack of toilets, shortage of food, outbreaks of Cholera and Typhus. And right back to the 1860s we go, courtesy of the Tories.

Hi Mike, I was going to facebook and the embedded image was the banner at the top of your page. The words HARM CHILDREN jump out at me followed by VOTE LABOUR. Conservatives For the Privileged Few in lower case is blocked out by the big block capitals and floats above them as its own separate clause.

I’m not nit picking. People will see the capitals, assign a meaning to them and ignore the rest and do so in a tenth of a second without even knowing they’ve done it.

I knew that psychology degree was good for something.

Yep, it gave me the same impression, luckily of course I know otherwise.

Okay. I’ll have to work out another way of doing these images then.

Unfortunately there are too many people that are too quick to “blame the parents” who “don’t want to work” and seem to have little or no compassion for the children. It seems for many people, if they are OK and others are not then it must be down to lifestyle choices. So they carry on voting Tory because they don’t like Jeremy Corbyn, because Labour’s plans will “bankrupt the country” and because the media tell them too. Especially the ones who think that the Tories “wouldn’t dare” to sell off the NHS! People are sleepwalking into that I’m afraid.
