Keir Starmer and Rishi Sunak: when it comes to using private companies to provide public services like healthcare, you couldn’t squeeze a credit card into any gap between their policies.

The problem, as we have seen, is that using the private sector to clear waiting lists simply doesn’t work.

The Tories have been trying it and fewer people received treatment.
