Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, has decided that a hospital in Gaza is built over a Hamas base – and has posted “proof” consisting of a computer-generated cartoon animation.

Here it is:

If you can see anything in this CGI cartoon that actually proves Hamas has a base under a hospital, please comment, indicating where it is – because This Writer can’t find it!

Apparently the complex in question is Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, currently said to be sheltering 12,000 people – all of whom may now be considered targets of the Israeli government and military.

Netanyahu has rightly come under considerable criticism for this – or, indeed, ridicule:

Some have taken this as a tacit admission that Israel did indeed bomb the Al Ahli Hospital – and some are also pointing out that they predicted Israel would use a claim of Hamas bases under hospitals to justify bombing more:

It is ironic that Netanyahu is claiming that Hamas are sick, on the basis of a cartoon that has no apparent evidential base.

Depending on what happens to Al-Shifa Hospital, we can all decide who is sick in this context.
