Anti-austerity candidate has challenged Keir Starmer to attend a hustings debate

An anti-austerity candidate has challenged Keir Starmer to attend a hustings debate in Holborn & St Pancras.

Andrew Feinstein, the Independent anti-austerity, anti-war former ANC (South Africa) MP is standing for election against Keir Starmer in that constituency.
He challenged Starmer and other candidates standing in Holborn & St Pancras to attend the event on Monday (June 17) hosted by CADFA in Tufnell Park.

Mr Feinstein said: “I challenge Keir Starmer to debate with me all the issues facing ordinary working people in Holborn & St Pancras [including] the spriraling cost of living, unaffordable housing and rents, lack of decent, well paid jobs and the ongoing slaugher in Gaza.
“We need to have a proper head-to-head to work out how we make life for people in this borough better.”
Directly addressing the Labour leader, he said: “Keir Starmer, please talk to meet about what a local MP’s job should be. You may be the Labour leader, but you were elected to represent the people of Holborn & St Pancras and yet we never see you here.
“You don’t even comment when your local council takes homeless people off their doorstep instead of offering them help.
“We can’t address these issues without our MP in the room. We ask that you join us at  on Monday evening.”
This Site has not tried to contact Starmer for an indication of whether he will attend. Media attention may prompt him to do it when he would not otherwise have bothered.
It would be better for the people of Holborn & St Pancras to know whether Keir Starmer genuinely thinks they are worth his valuable time.
