May wants to bypass Parliament to go to war with Syria. Democracy is dying
Liar: There’s no reason Theresa May could not recall Parliament for a representative vote on military action in Syria. Time is not of the essence.
Theresa May has said she is prepared to go to war against Syria without asking Parliament, over the suspected chemical weapons attack in Douma.

Apparently this is because time is short. Really?
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has demanded that Parliament be given a vote. Both houses are still in Easter recess but there’s no reason they cannot be recalled – so Mrs May is talking tommyrot as usual.

Paul Mason, writing in New Statesman, has said that bombing Syria is futile:
“To defeat Assad, and prevent the further collapse of the global order, long-range missiles are no good. Knowing this, Donald Trump and his national security adviser John Bolton will probably fire a lot of them. No. To defeat Assad you would have to engage in the kind of warfare America did in Iraq, going from house to house in the dark, killing suspected supporters of al-Qaeda, dragging their children and elderly into the dark by flashlight.
“You would have to bomb what’s left of Syria until it looked like what’s left of Gaza. And you would have to do it knowing that into the chaos you create, would move exactly the kind of jihadi groups we are trying to rid the world of.
“That’s why I am against Britain joining a military strike on Assad’s Syria.”

Tories always have plenty of our money (from the magic money tree) to go to war on “trumped” up and manufactured incidents. Get May and her cohorts out before they do any more damage.
Blair set a precedent and went to parlliament for a vote BEFORE going to war in Iraq. He had parliamentary and UN approval and the the Fail still labelled him a war criminal. Apparently a prime minister is not obliged to go the the house, Blair did, and he set a precedent. But they should be aware that Russia has a tank which cannot be stopped and missiles which cannot be detected. When will Russian go on the school curriculum?
This is a clear setup by the US and its little troll the UK, with weapons there are today this could very nasty, not just for Syria but for the UK as well it would not take to much to erase the UK from the map if it turns very nasty but then again like Churchill in the last war the so called elite would not be here when thing turn nasty
May interfering in Syria will only prolong the war and lead to the deaths of thousands of more people. She will have blood on her hands. Britain should have supported Assad from the first – at least he’s a secularist. The west have meddled catastrophically in Syria and May is foolish/wicked enough to continue in this.
Fired up with her “decisiveness” over the Salisbury poisoning, May is now trying to cash in by presenting herself as a “strong and stable” leader, even when it leads to the deaths of more Syrians. She knows that she can’t win a vote in parliament. So much for democracy. She might impress Trump, but few others.
She does not want to be a Hawk. She wants to be a TERRAHAWK
why does she not go to fight to have all those chemical weapons Britain sold to Syria given back? I am sorry Mr Assad, when we sold you those chemical weapons we did not really expect you to use them…” Its ridiculous. Assad has just gone back to attacking and bombing his own people, which is where the problem started in the first place. Shame Russia is helping him with that instead of helping him in return to him bringing peace
when I was in Amnesty International it was disgusting a fact that the UK vestige of democracy and parliament and human rights were the highest in selling arms and top at selling torture equipment.
If she can’t bypass parliament, then why isn’t it set in stone? Surely there Are things the PM can’t do!
If our esteemed leaders and their cohorts wish to go to war then, they and their families should be in the front line of battle, but then they never are, it’s ordinary people, men, women and children who die.

The article is misleading. Kate Osamor has subsequently pointed out –

That ‘sham’ of a ‘democracy’ we might once have had probably needs to die: all the better for sowing the seeds of a new, decent variety better suited to the needs and rights of ordinary human beings in a ‘civilized’ world for the ‘new millennium’! Money tree seems to be doing alright at the moment though: it will need to be at £800K per bomb plus transportation costs, expenses, overtime and bonus!
