Tory councillor found supporting fascism – and gets suspended. Wait – what?

Tim Wills: fascist entryist into the Tory Party? [Image courtesy of Tony Hardwick on Twitter.]

It’s why the Conservatives are the Nasty Party – they offer a home to the nastiest people with the nastiest politics, and they don’t care.

Last week we learned that Worthing Tory Councillor Tim Wills is a supporter of a far-right group that pushes an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory. Here are the details:

This is a man who, it seems, actively supports anti-Semitism – for real, as opposed to all the trumped-up charges that have been thrown at Labour Party members lately.

And what did the Tories do? They suspended him as a member.

We’ve seen this behaviour from Tories before. They say, “Look – we’ve suspended this person!” and then when attention shifts away, they quietly reinstate the offenders.

The will of the people seems clear: not this time.

Labour councillors are leading the calls for him to be removed as a councillor and expelled from the Tories…

… and the people of Worthing seem to agree:

This isn’t over and it isn’t going away.
