Leftwingers – Please Don’t Vote for Keir Starmer as Your Constituency MP | Beastrabban\’s Weblog

This Writer has been laid low with Lurgi over the weekend, so I’m looking to others to sustain This Site.

First up is my brother David, who runs Beastrabban\’s Weblog.

He’s not happy with Keir Starmer at all – and has published a 25-minute YouTube video explaining his very good reasons for wanting left-wing voters in Starmer’s Holborn & St Pancras constituency to vote for other left-wing parties, the Monster Raving Loonies or single-issue candidates rather than helping Starmer bring his brand of Conservatism into 10 Downing Street.

That’s right – Starmer is a Conservative and you need to make sure everybody knows it. If anything, he is more right-wing than Rishi Sunak. And that means he’s bad for you.

Here’s the video:

You, and David, are clearly not yet aware of OCISA. Understandable as aside from one attack piece in the Jewish Chronicle there has been a total mainstream media blackout on what we are doing.

We are a group with other 6,000 members, raising funds and organising to stand a democratic left candidate against Starmer in Holborn St Pancras. The candidate will be selected by our members through a transparent democratic process. For the last few months we have been on the streets in the constituency surveying voters to see what they want from their MP. We will be advertising widely for potential candidates imminently.

The seat is NOT going to go to the Tories if Starmer loses. It is one of the most diverse and pro-EU constituencies in the country. The Tories are nowhere and losing support. The Lib Dems and Greens are not seriously targeting it. We have agreement with pretty much all the left groups and parties that they will not stand candidates there either. The choice in Holborn St Pancras is between Starmer and OCISA.

Numerous constituents have expressed anger that Starmer habitually fails to respond to letters or emails from them. A couple of weeks ago a few of us went to join the Green New Deal Rising protest outside his constutuency office. The office is a ground floor unit under a council block. It had been abandoned. There was a sign in the window stating that the office has moved. It did not say where to or how to contact your MP otherwise. Without doubt basically sticking up two fingers to the residents saying “I don’t care about you, or anybody else who can’t give me large sums of money or give me favourable coverage in newspapers or on TV”.

Find out about, donate to, or join OCISA here. https://ocisa.org.uk/

In fact, Dave has done a follow-up article around OCISA and I was going to reblog it, but I got sidetracked by the Tory conference. Will rectify – and would like to intensify coverage as we get closer to a general election.
